Removing and installing wiper motor – specified torque and  
tightening sequence  
Stage Component  
Specified torque/turning further angle

-1-, -2- and -3- Screw in by hand as far as stop  
-1-, -2- and -3- 8 Nm  
2.2  
Moving wipers to service position  
NOTICE  
Risk of damaging the bonnet when moving wipers back into  
the park position.  
– Never move vehicle with wiper arms folded out.  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage from movement of frozen wiper blades.  
– Allow wiper blades to thaw before operating.  
The wiper motor only works when the bonnet is fully closed.  
– When there is a risk of frost, check if wiper blades are frozen  
to windscreen.  
– Switch ignition on and off.  
– Press windscreen wiper lever to “flick wipe” position within  
10 seconds.  
Wipers move to service position.

Removing and installing wiper blade  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage to windscreen.  
– Prevent the wiper arm folding back unexpectedly.  
NOTICE  
Risk of damage to the wiper blade.  
– To lift wiper blade off windscreen, touch it only in area in  
which wiper blade is attached to wiper.

NOTICE  
Risk of damage to wiper arm and wiper blade.  
– Avoid bending wiper arm and wiper blade.  
Removing  
– ⇒ Rep. gr. 92; Move wipers to service position.  
– Lift wiper arm off the windscreen.  
– Release retaining clip in direction of -arrow A-.  
– Pull wiper blade -1- in direction of -arrow B- off wiper arm  
-2-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
– Insert wiper blade -1- parallel in direction of -arrow- into  
wiper arm -2-.  
– Push wiper blade -1- into wiper arm -2- until retaining clip is  
heard to engage.  
– Activate “flick wipe” function to exit the service position.

Removing and installing wiper arms  
Special tools and workshop equipment required  
♦ puller -T10369/2-  
Removal and installation are described for a left-hand drive  
vehicle as an example.  
Removing  
– ⇒ Rep. gr. 92; Move wipers to service position.
