VW ID.4 Electrical System ➜ Removing and installing washer pump [V59]

– Pull washer fluid reservoir -2- off guide rails, and remove it.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
Note  
To prevent incorrect connection of the washer fluid hoses on  
the windscreen and rear window washer pump, the connec‐  
tions on the windscreen and rear window washer pump and  
washer fluid hoses are colour-coded. The connection pieces of  
the washer fluid hoses must be inserted in the corresponding  
colour-coded connections of the windscreen and rear window  
washer pump during installation.  
Tightening torques

Removing and installing washer pump  
[V59]  
The windscreen and rear window washer pump -V59- will  
henceforth be referred to as “windscreen and rear window  
washer pump”.  
Removing  
– Detach front left wheel housing liner ⇒ General body repairs,  
exterior; Rep. gr. 66; Wheel housing liner; Removing and  
installing front wheel housing liner.  
– Place commercially available drip tray under washer fluid  
reservoir.  
– Disconnect electrical connector -2-.

– Pull out windscreen and rear window washer pump -1- up‐  
wards.  
– Release and pull off washer fluid hoses -3-.  
Installing  
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:  
Note  
To prevent incorrect connection of the washer fluid hoses on  
the windscreen and rear window washer pump, the connec‐  
tions on the windscreen and rear window washer pump and  
washer fluid hoses are colour-coded. The connection pieces of  
the washer fluid hoses must be inserted in the corresponding  
colour-coded connections of the windscreen and rear window  
washer pump during installation.  
– Check sealing grommet for damage and correct seating.

Removing and installing spray jets  
The left spray jet heater element -Z20- and right spray jet heater  
element -Z21- are an integral part of the spray jets.  
Removing  
– Open bonnet.  
– Push spray jet upwards in direction of -arrow A-.  
– Swivel spray jet downwards out of bonnet in direction of  
-arrow B-.
